With our strong presence in the expedited international airfreight business, the U-Freight Group was drawn to an announcement by Magma Aviation explaining how the role of narrow-body freighters in the air cargo industry has progressed quickly in recent years.
Magma Aviation has found that certain aircraft, like the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A321-200, with more fuel-efficient engines and optimised cargo configurations, are ideal for short- to medium-haul operations while at the same time reducing significant, environmental impact. These aircraft offer reduced fuel usage alongside quicker turnaround times, rendering it feasible to move smaller quantities across shorter distances.
We have noted Magma Aviation’s observations that in Europe and the Middle East narrow-body freighters are an increasingly important part of the air cargo industry. New-generation freighters are more fuel-efficient, have lower emissions and offer the flexibility to run flights between busy trade hubs within the region where infrastructures are highly-developed and the demand is consistently high.
U-Freight is always looking to play its role in greening the global aviation supply chain and often selects services that use such aircraft.
