U-Freight America integrates US West Coast operations

In California, U-Freight America is integrating its air, ocean, logistics and eCommerce operations at one enhanced location in the greater Los Angeles area at a wholly-owned logistics hub in the City of Industry, which the company reoccupied in 2021.
The facility is an 80,000 sq ft hub from which U-Freight America will now offer fully-integrated logistics services, generated through its air and oceanfreight operations, which have transferred from another smaller facility at Los Angeles airport.
The consolidation of our freight and logistics operations on the US West Coast in the City of Industry gives us the perfect location from which to offer full supply chain management and logistics operations for shippers, using the U-Freight Group’s import and export operations through the port and airport of Los Angeles.
An additional 1,400 pallet positions have been added to the logistics hub, with around 15% of the facility being dedicated to eCommerce fulfilment operations. The increased warehouse capacity will permit U-Freight America to improve all aspects of its services through this important West Coast gateway.
Plans are afoot to equip the building with an automatic guided vehicle (AGV) and Intelligent Racking system, and associated operating software, to improve the utilisation of storage capacity and shorten shipment processing times, as well as the outbound order processing stage.
This means consumers get their goods sooner, which is especially important in the booming world of eCommerce logistics in which U-Freight was an early entrant and a significant player in several markets and trade lanes. Furthermore, sellers can more accurately track their inventory in real time.
The deployment of autonomous mobile robots in the City of Industry facility as well as several other U-Freight warehouses around the globe will transform their capabilities to meet the ever-increasing challenges of providing logistics services to this rapidly expanding sector of global trade.
This consolidation of all operations under one roof will also give U-Freight America the opportunity to provide greater flexibility and growth opportunities.
