Huge growth projected for e-commerce logistics market
ISSUE 51
As an international logistics service provider with a significant commitment to e-commerce logistics, U-Freight notes that a recent report by market research organisation, Future Market Insights suggests that the global e-commerce logistics market is estimated to reach USD531.6 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach USD2,734.6 billion by 2032.

The report suggests that from 2022 to 2032, the market is projected to record a CAGR of 17.8%, gaining momentum over the forecast period of 2022-2032.

With the help of big data, retailers can better understand consumer behaviours and shopping habits, and refine their e-commerce logistics strategies.

As an early entrant into the market for provision of cross-border e-commerce logistics services in China and the USA, we were interested in the report’s prediction that the transportation service type e-commerce logistics segment in the former will grow at a 19.6% CAGR by 2032, whilst in the latter market it is predicted to reach USD748.9 billion while growing at a CAGR of 17.5% during the forecast period.

At U-Freight, in our development of eCommerce logistics solutions, we are continually trying to address the key issues stemming from increasing volumes of business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) eCommerce shipments and the time sensitivity that is associated with this business.

Examples of those efforts include investment at several of the company’s warehouse facilities to enable them to act as complete eCommerce fulfilment centres (EFCs). Over the last few years, U-Freight has opened EFCs across Asia, North America, and Europe.
