Anyone involved in the container shipping trades between Asia and North Europe should read an excellent article on the Loadstar website, which provides a summary of the changes taking place with the transition to the new shipping alliances.
With our comprehensive portfolio of international container shipping services for both LCL and FCL import and export cargoes, the article made interesting reading for the U-Freight Group.
The article is based on new analysis from the maritime intelligence platform, eeSea and, amongst various findings, states that proforma scheduled liner capacity on the Asia-North Europe trade is set to be reduced by around 11%, once the transition to the new shipping alliance set-up is complete.
In contrast, it adds, that the number of individual weekly sailings between Asia and North Europe is expected to increase, from the 26 offered by the previous alliances and standalone services, to 28.
