China–Europe rail freight makes strong start to the year

In early 2026, China–Europe freight trains have begun the year with high volumes and expanded activity, reinforcing cargo reliability against a backdrop of ongoing global supply chain uncertainty.

The U-Freight Group’s regular rail freight services from China to Europe have continued to operate steadily throughout and beyond the Chinese Spring Festival period, keeping vital logistics corridors open and supporting supply chains across Asia and Europe. Our service provides a reliable solution, with regular departures from China to Europe, ensuring your shipments continue moving seamlessly.

The wider China–Europe rail freight network’s strong performance this year has been supported by hundreds of daily train departures and an expanding choice of routes serving multiple European destinations.

With the Lunar New Year holidays concluded and factories resuming production, U-Freight anticipates increased demand for our China-Europe rail freight services, particularly given continuing volatility in other transport modes.

U-Freight started our regular service in 2014, consolidating cargo in Xi’an and Wuhan and using the regular services that operate from those railheads to and from railheads in Poland, Germany, and Belgium. We now handle significant consol shipments from China to Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and The Netherlands in particular, as well as smaller volumes to other European countries, handled by our network of long standing agents once the shipments arrive at the three rail freight hubs in Europe.

For FCL shipments our large Chinese presence enables us to arrange container pickup from across the country and select a service from the rail freight gateway that is nearest to our customers.

Our overland rail freight service is clearly demonstrating that it offers a competitive alternative to air freight in regards to price, and considerably faster transit times compared to the ocean freight alternative. As a critical transport alternative, our service continues to help mitigate the current disruptions in maritime container shipping, elevated air freight costs and the challenges of moving time-sensitive cargo.
